Shelter is gone

Am I going down – intensely shivering when the shelter is gone?

Thus rain and wind empowered its force, the feeling of emptiness echoes through the storm. Nowhere to go, delusion says the truth. It’s been miserable to believe in me and you.

Two stars circles around each other, nor getting closer nor moving – forever. Words like drops falling forming tears, frozen by pride, by their master squeezed.

Colours of the rainbow reflect what I see – black and white, but the rest do not exist.

Curse the faith, curse the falling star. White dove could not reach the path to my heart.

Thunder out there scream out loud to me, burning the sky on my way, to see. The reason and fear almost holding hands, pointing the one who deserves all that.

Utterly soaked in the rain that falls, willing to disappear to reset what I have done. Mirrored again, pale face presenting the scar – holding the last piece I wish could survive.

  1. This has so many lines worth to be quotes or recited while talking Poetry, Philosophy, Love, Death – while sitting in old leather armchairs with a good glass, surrounded by old splendor, listening to the storm outside, the rain drumming on the windows. Almost like Lord Byron and Shelley that one stormy night – Brilliant! Love your style.

    1. My God – are you willing to intimidate me? Even so, this is how I feel. Your words are too sophisticated for such a person like myself. Deeply appreciate and hope I won’t disappoint you.

  2. First off, my apologies for coming here late. I read a couple and the one where I felt my words wanted to really have their say, sadly comments were closed. No matter! What matters is I’m here now to savour and to devour your writings that lure me like poetic prophesies. Your diction is impeccable and your poetic-prose style is commendable. I know I will not be disappointed, Matthew. Here’s to more power to your mighty pen.

    1. Frankenstein is by far one of my favourite novels and also – the book that inspired me into my love for Literature and Writing poetry myself. When I read the beginning of your piece , that is instantly what I associated it with.
And besides – Shelley herself was a newbie writer once πŸ™‚

    2. I’m honored. Hope I won’t disappoint you in the future, my style heavily relies on moodish writing – also dark side of the matter – so being associated with Frankenstein novel is motivating me to work even harder. Sure she was, who knows what brings the future! πŸ˜‰

  6. You really make it seem really easy together with your presentation but I in finding this matter to be really one thing that I believe I might by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely extensive for me. I’m having a look forward to your next submit, I’ll try to get the grasp of it!

  11. About your new format of writing: as I read how rich with imagery it was, I began to think perhaps I was more in touch with you than I had ever been due to what appears to be stream of consciousness coming forth. I enjoyed this poem immensely. But I should say that I followed you after reading one or two of your poems because you’re original and gifted and you emote whichever way you choose to write. That’s your gift as a writer. I’ve never been disappointed with your work. But the mood and imagery of this one wowed me. I wish I knew more of how you created this poem. Most of all, thank you! Poetry needs you!

    1. This is what is called feedback! I have never received such a kind response to my writing so far and I am literally shocked. This one was hidden in my head for a couple of days, but it is not as personal as it looks like. A mixture of everything – inspirations, thoughts and feelings. Appreciate your words about me and my writing, it means a lot. Thank you!
